Chapter thirteen

I sat in the back corner of the glass case. I couldn't lift my head or any part of my body. If someone came in here, I couldn't fight them.

I was too weak.

A young, blonde witch, probably no more than thirteen years old comes into the case with me. She carries a bottle of water and a plate of food to me.

"Are you real?" I murmured.

"Yes, Eva, I'm real," She giggles with a melodic voice. "I'm Erica. Please eat."

"Is it drugged? Is it...Did you drug me?"

"It's safe," she says as she takes a drink of water and a bite of food to show me.

I hesitated, but my stomach grumbled in hunger. I reached for the plate and took a small bite. The food was warm and savory, filling my empty stomach. After a few more bites, I felt my strength slowly return.

Just as quickly as I felt it, I also felt a wave of nausea hit me.

"No," I gasped as I turned my head and puked up the small bites I'd just taken.

"You poor thing," Erica breathed as she held my hair and rubbed my back.

"How's my favorite puppy today?" The voice singsonged.

A gorgeous blonde man appeared before me. His eyes were an unnatural blue. His hair was so blonde it was almost white. He was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a tank top showing off his ripped physique.

"She can't keep food down, Master," Erica stated, her eyes were glassy as she looked back at the man.

"Bring her some broth then, I need her strength up for what happens next."

"The moon is almost here," Erica stated as if she were in a trance. She stood and walked off slowly.

"Are you excited my dear, sweet puppy?" The man asked.

"Who are you?"

"I am your mate."

I shook my head. "If you're my mate I should know your name."

"My name is Blaze. I have such a big day for us planned." His voice almost had a boyish lilt to it. It's as though he was a teenager trying to look like an adult.

"How old are you?"

"Eighty four years old."

"How old were you when you were bitten?"

He rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Don't you want to hear about what I have planned?"

"No."

"Too bad." He laughed. He smiled and reached out to move my hair out of my face.

I pulled back from him and smacked at his hand. He chuckled before he pinned me with a steely glare.

I closed my eyes knowing I couldn't get caught in his stare.

"Your father is the cause of this, you know?" He stood up and began walking around the glass case. "If he would have just minded his own business none of this would be happening."

"What do you mean?"

"I was doing my thing and experimenting on whoever I wanted and then your father decided he needed to step in and stop me. Now you will pay for his sins."

"You can't experiment on people against their will."

"I can do whatever I want." He smiled.

I looked down at the ground immediately.
